The Late Late Show has been running since the early 1960s and has a real charm about it. Recognized as Ireland’s most popular and prestigious television show it is also the longest running chat show in the world. The show is a real Irish treasure that we’re proud of, but if you walk into your bathroom at the start of every day, knowing that it’s older than the Late, Late Show, that has somewhat less charm than the stars on the box.
So what’s holding you back? Why don’t you take the bull by the horns and do something about it? Why do people renovate the rest of their houses enthusiastically yet seem frozen with fear and procrastination when it comes to their bathrooms? The reasons, in our view fall into three different categories. They are because people think:
- It’ll cost a fortune
- It’ll cause no end of upheaval
- It won’t add value to my house
If you belong to any one of these camps, but you really want to update your bathroom, today’s the day to think differently because in fact, a bathroom renovation:
- Needn’t cost a fortune
- Won’t necessarily cause insurmountable upheaval
- Will make your house more appealing to buyers
The cost
No matter whether your preference is for a modern, traditional or designer bathroom there are solutions available today that needn’t break the bank. A great bathroom look can be achieved even on the tightest of budgets in this day and age. If your main bathroom elements, for example the bath, sink or toilet are old and damaged and need updating, you’ll be able to replace them for a whole lot less cash than you imagine. What’s more, if your budget simply doesn’t allow for the delivery of your ‘ultimate wish list’, you can always compromise on certain elements in order to make overall savings. A good bathroom supplier will guide you regarding where you can safely reduce your spend without creating problems for yourself in the future.
The hassle factor
In this day and age, it’s common for even the smallest of houses or apartments to boast two bathrooms. If this is the case in your home, then the disruption associated with replacing an old bathroom will be minimal. If however you have only one bathroom, then you need to face the fact that there will be some upheaval. That said, a good bathroom supplier and fitter will have your old bathroom completely replaced in a maximum of 5 days, unless there is significant building work to be carried out. We recently published an article about 5-day bathroom installations. If you haven’t already read it, you can find it here
Adding appeal
While a new bathroom mightn’t directly add additional value to your home, if you make the right choices by installing a bathroom that’ll appeal to a broad range of people (as well as you and your family of course), then your home is more likely to stand out in a crowd of potential buyers.
